We, at Wincopia Home Montessori, believe that using any kind of screen time get in the way of exploring, playing, and interacting with others, that encourages learning and healthy physical and social development.
Based on American Academy of Pediatrics’ recommendations and policy guidelines set by Division of Early Childhood, part of Department of Education, we enforce following screen-time policy.
- For children ages 6 weeks to 2 years, we do not allow any screen time (TV, video players like tablets, phones or computer). No exception.
- We do not allow any screen time during meals and snacks.
- We do not provide access to the desktop computer or laptop or tables or phone to any children any time.
- For children ages 2 years and above, We may allow up to maximum of 30 minutes total time per week of educational and age appropriate screen time.
- This screen-time may include television, video, and/or DVD. We do not provide any access to TV or any other media player like tablets, phones or computer during our instructional time.
- Currently, we do not have screen-time as a part of our regularly scheduled learning activity. We will notify parents ahead of time if we plan to show any teacher directed age appropriate educational programs to children on TV or screen.
We strictly follow our screen time policy.
